Meet Miss Dior: a fashionista with a Data-like logical side. Married to Captain Picard: a Linux lord with Jean-Luc Picard patience. On a chilly January night in 2005, a journey through space and time began for us when we decided to expand our family through adoption. Our journey to find the child meant for us has led us all over the galaxy, but in the end, we've come back home to adopt a child domestically.

Happy First Birthday Alexandra!

My energy is low, as is so often the case these days, but my spirits are high. I had the BEST day with Alexa celebrating her birthday. It's so rare to have an entire day devoted to fun that doesn't follow with some serious "you had too much fun and didn't get enough work done" consequences. It was beautiful. It took me back to the happiest time of my life - her birth and the following months spent at home getting to know her. I swear I could smell the hospital and hear all the monitors in the NICU with every breath and beat of my heart today. I don't have the energy to do the day justice, but here are some pictures that hopefully capture our joy.

Alexa's birthday present - pop beads! She LOVED them! We had so much fun with each other, that we forgot to open the rest of the gifts. Ooops, we may have to celebrate again this weekend. The tragedy!

Off for a quick lunch at Alexa's favorite restaurant (Chick-Fil- A) with me, Picard and Alexa's BM. Alexa's BM got her a teddy bear and a princess book. Alexa snuggled her new teddy all day.

A little reading before naptime.

Ok Momma! I'm all rested! Where we going now?

Do I pick or plant the flowers Momma? (Alexa had a ball cruising around the Children's Museum and playing with the other kiddos. Alexa is not a shy flower.)

Hey! Wanna play? It's fuuuunnnn!

Ooooh! These spin and I can pull them off and put them back on.

Happy Birthday Little Juicy One! Look at all that hair! I can't believe we missed you at TCM. Was that place a ZOO or what? We were there in the am. Cru-aa-zy. I'm not saying it's perfect or that's it's done, but I know someone has been sewing a little something for you...shh, it's a surprise!

Best,

Greg, Lori, Sara & Kelly
