Meet Miss Dior: a fashionista with a Data-like logical side. Married to Captain Picard: a Linux lord with Jean-Luc Picard patience. On a chilly January night in 2005, a journey through space and time began for us when we decided to expand our family through adoption. Our journey to find the child meant for us has led us all over the galaxy, but in the end, we've come back home to adopt a child domestically.

Over the River and Through the Woods

We got back late Saturday night from visiting the Grandmas for Thanksgiving. Alexa is too young to have the holiday sparkle in her eye, but the sparkle in both her Grandma's eyes more than makes up for it. Who knew it could be so fun to watch your parents be grandparents? I don't remember them grinning ear to ear like that for us. I'm sure they did. But it's way more fun to watch them beaming at Alexa, as they grill us for the latest updates. Is she babbling? Does she smile a lot? Do we love being parents? On and on it goes. I love every minute of it. The only thing more fun than enjoying Alexa's beautiful smile each day is sharing her sunshiney personality with our families.

Alexa is usually a social butterfly, but her outgoing personality was no match for my boisterous family. All together, there were 15 of us (eight grand kids, 7 adults) at my Mom's house for our annual Thanksgiving/Christmas hybrid celebration which is held the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Miss Alexa spent the entire time in full on stare bear mode. She watched and listened most intently, but barely made a peep. It was so funny yesterday when the dam finally broke at home. She was a babbling machine. She babbled on and on until she passed out from fatigue. Then she would wake ready and raring to tell us more.

It was a great weekend. We have millions of great pictures. I think I've posted the maximum amount I can get on blogger without causing it to crash. More pics and updates will be coming soon.

Alexa: "Listen here mister! First of all we're cousins and second of all I'm a lady. Now I'll thank you kindly to take your hand off my sleeve!"

How cute can one boy be? My nephew Caleb is sporting his Christmas gift which was handcrafted with love by Grandma.

"Oh no. Who's holding me now?" (Alexa being held by my niece Brittany.)

"Oh Uncle Todd. Can Ali and I curl up and take a nap? I'm soooo tired."

Cole: "Oh goody! I get to be one of the boys!" (Cole is being held by Brenden, David is in the right hand corner and Caleb is in the lower left.)

Kyle strutting his stuff in his new Colts jersey.

*Blogger is doing some very weird spacing. Rather than spend the next three hours trying to fix it, I'm just going to hit publish and go have a glass of wine. Enjoy!
