Meet Miss Dior: a fashionista with a Data-like logical side. Married to Captain Picard: a Linux lord with Jean-Luc Picard patience. On a chilly January night in 2005, a journey through space and time began for us when we decided to expand our family through adoption. Our journey to find the child meant for us has led us all over the galaxy, but in the end, we've come back home to adopt a child domestically.

Three Beautiful Blessings

I think so much happiness comes from expressing gratitude for the things you have in your life, so I wanted to share a few of the blessings we've celebrated lately. Of course, our biggest blessing is having Alexandra Page as our daughter. The second biggest blessing has been all of the love, support and gifts we have received from family, friends and co-workers. The third blessing has been the renovation of our living room. Although it needs a lot of work to be finished, we made some really great progress this past week.

We've been blessed with a beautiful and happy daughter.

It's also a blessing that Alexa has a furry play pal. Pippa loves her! Elakshi wants nothing to do with her. Oh well, you can't win them all over.

Even though Alexa is now almost six weeks old, I still haven't finished writing all of the thank you notes for the beautiful gifts she received. These are the gifts from one of her baby showers - and she had three! We couldn't have made it through the first six weeks without all of the precious and priceless presents. Thank you to our friends, family and Picard's co-workers - the thank you notes are coming!

Despite a very tight budget since leaving my full-time job to do contract work, we now have custom made curtains. We went three months without curtains on our front window, so having these finished and installed was a huge deal!

We've had two light fixtures sitting in boxes for months. We finally had them installed yesterday. This chandelier hangs in the living room.

This light fixture replaced the ghetto gold pendant in our entryway.

I love this picture, Al. You hold up Alexa's head like she's a little puppet and she looks pleased about it. Look how small she is compared to you!!!
Remember how I told you that you'd see the world in a whole different way thru the eyes of a child? Money is great, but raising children is the best thing there is, especially when they turn out as nice as you and Aaron did.
