Meet Miss Dior: a fashionista with a Data-like logical side. Married to Captain Picard: a Linux lord with Jean-Luc Picard patience. On a chilly January night in 2005, a journey through space and time began for us when we decided to expand our family through adoption. Our journey to find the child meant for us has led us all over the galaxy, but in the end, we've come back home to adopt a child domestically.

Introducing Alexandra Page!

Today we met the new love of our lives. We got the call that our BM's water had broken around 9 a.m. this morning. We got to the hospital around 10:30 a.m. At 4:22 p.m. the wee sweat pea we've dreamed of for years was born. Here are her first pictures, in her worldwide debut.

Our beautiful Alexandra doesn't cry much, but I bawled like a baby the first time I held her. Those of you who know Picard best will recognize this "OMG, Miss Dior has water running down her face, what do I do?" look.

Daddy Picard holds his daughter for the first time.

She is the most perfect little being that one could imagine. She was born at 6 lbs. 12 oz and 20.5 inches long.

Here is a close up of her black soft down hair and pinky smooth skin.

We're at home for the night, but will be back to adore our darling Alexandra first thing in the morning. Adoption paperwork is planned for around 4:30 p.m. tomorrow. Please pray for us that everything goes smoothly.

Greg called. Sara and I turned the music off in the car to pray on the way to the library. I tried to pray with all my might, but Sara said she was praying for the mailboxes. You just can't count on the 2 year old.

Thinking about you non-stop. I set my prayer on repeat until Jesus answers. He's surely with you now.

All my love, Lori
