Meet Miss Dior: a fashionista with a Data-like logical side. Married to Captain Picard: a Linux lord with Jean-Luc Picard patience. On a chilly January night in 2005, a journey through space and time began for us when we decided to expand our family through adoption. Our journey to find the child meant for us has led us all over the galaxy, but in the end, we've come back home to adopt a child domestically.

I'm Melting, I'm Melting....

Precious Alexa holding Daddy Picard's hand

Today, my little girl opened her eyes, turned her head and looked at me. That's it. I'm done for. I've totally and completely melted. I've become obsessed with her. I can't stop thinking of her. Everything reminds me of her. The sound of brushing the cats reminds me of her cry. The speedometer in my car reminds me of her monitors. The smell of baby laundry detergent reminds me of her soft skin. When I left tonight she cried and my heart broke. I wouldn't leave until I had comforted her and she had stopped. Ahhh..... I didn't know I'd fall so far so fast.

It's good that we had a good bonding day because the health prognosis wasn't as good. Alexa's morning blood results showed more signs of infection. She also wasn't eating as well today. All of her vitals are still good though. Most importantly, her spinal tap culture has not grown anything and all of the meningitis tests are still coming back negative. The doctor said it's not uncommon for infection to get worse before it gets better. She also said we are now looking at a 10 day hospital stay instead of 7. It will be a great sign if her blood work is better tomorrow. That will means her antibiotics are working.

Mommy Dior got to dress our little beauty in her own clothes for the first time today. She looks even cuter, if that's possible, out of the hospital whites and in some color!

Yep, Momma can never leave a crying baby. Boys don't get that. I just wrapped up the Night Night Basket. I swear, I think Greg would have driven it over to you tonight if I let him. He kept saying, "They'll need all of this stuff! They need it now!" He's so cute. He lova his two baby girls. Get some good rest while you can. Will keep up the praying!

Around if you need me, Lori
