Back to Life, Back to Reality
You remember that song from the 80s right? En Vogue....the barely discernible "however do you want me, however do you need me" lyrics? I used to think they said "how early do you want me," but they don't. Well, that song has been burning through my mind today because it was the first day back to work after our annual Anniversary vacation. (Nine years married, 15 years together if you're wondering.)
This year's trip was to Las Vegas! We went with our good friends the Party Princess and her Charming Husband. It was big fun! Picard and I definitely needed to escape reality for awhile and just have some plain, good old-fashioned fun. While I have to say it's true that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, it is also true that your regular daily life is ready and raring to greet you at the door when you get back.
Now that I've had a chance to refresh and rejuvenate I am ready to share the trifecta of change I have enacted in the Picard and Dior household. This is what I was alluding to in my last mysterious post. This sounds crazy, so just prepare yourself. Are you ready? Ok, I warned you.
1. I have resigned from my job-without another job completely lined up
2. Our paperwork will be active in the next two weeks, so we could be matched with a child at any time
3. We are still doing our massive home makeover which includes new flooring, walls, furniture, etc. Actually, it's all picked out and purchased, we're just wading through the endless backorders to get to the point of installation
See, I told you it was crazy. And yet it's not at all. I feel so divinely guided right now I just know everything is going to work out exactly as it was meant. I still get stressed. Oh yes, I stress with the best of them. But at the end of the day, I just know what is happening right now in our lives is exactly as it should be.
So, there you have it. We went to Vegas AND I'm changing jobs, getting a baby and doing some home makeovers. Those things all flow seamlessly together, right?
