How is it that time can move so blindingly fast and painstakingly slow at the same time?

Case in point: Can you believe July is more than half over already? I find myself already referring to my August calendar at work on a regular basis. And yet, we still don't have a log in date. We aren't even officially waiting. It feels like this wait may last forever.

Another example: My brother is married now. How did that happen? Just earlier this year he announced his engagement. At the time, a July wedding seemed eons away. And yet, there has been that part of me that has wondered for years...dude are you ever going to find the right one and settle down? It seems like we waited forever for this occasion.
