Meet Miss Dior: a fashionista with a Data-like logical side. Married to Captain Picard: a Linux lord with Jean-Luc Picard patience. On a chilly January night in 2005, a journey through space and time began for us when we decided to expand our family through adoption. Our journey to find the child meant for us has led us all over the galaxy, but in the end, we've come back home to adopt a child domestically.

The Trifecta of Birthday Celebrations!

Well, my 30th birthday was well celebrated. I can tell you that. I had three official birthday celebrations, one for each decade of existence. I had my weekend with my family. I had my Chinese dinner party on my actual birthday. I also went out with friends this weekend for my "I refuse to act like I'm 30 party with friends." You'll see me sporting my birthday dress in my refusing to act like I'm 30 pose to the left. Man to left is the hubby of Ninny Fabulous.

The great thing about birthdays is that they give you a chance to catch up with friends you haven't seen in a long time. Pictured below are Kelly and Scott, who both went to BSU at the same time as me and Picard. Kelly lived across the hall from me my freshman year. I was a bridesmaid in their wedding, Kelly was a bridesmaid of mine. Until her 30th birthday party earlier this year, we hadn't seen each other in a couple years.

Also, I feel it important to mention Heather Princess. You've all heard about Ninny Fabulous, but you haven't yet seen The Princess yet. Heather is the ambassador of goodwill and leads the good time charge at any party. Left to right are Ninny, me and Princess.
All of this celebrating has made time pass quickly and has really made my 30th birthday one for the record books. Now that the fun is done, it's time to revert my focus back to the reason I so desperately wanted to be 30, the wee one who will join our life next year. We have not yet received our passports, although they were scheduled to arrive last week. Also, I have not heard from our home study agency confirmation that our home study has been sent to immigration. In good news, I was able to order 11 pictures yesterday that will go with our dossier. Thank you to everyone who has put up with my shutterbug obsession the past few weeks.
I'll do my pestering, uh I mean checking, with the appropriate officials and get back to you all with a status update.
*Please excuse the weird formatting of this post. I can't fix it but don't want to scrap the whole thing, so I apologize for the random placement of text and pictures.
