Meet Miss Dior: a fashionista with a Data-like logical side. Married to Captain Picard: a Linux lord with Jean-Luc Picard patience. On a chilly January night in 2005, a journey through space and time began for us when we decided to expand our family through adoption. Our journey to find the child meant for us has led us all over the galaxy, but in the end, we've come back home to adopt a child domestically.

Posing Pretty for China - Place your Vote

In my last post, I cryptically described this photo contest that I'm posting today. Ninny Fabulous, (remember Tina, the one who got me the Dior baby bottle?) her husband Todd, and two children (Taylor and Ethan) came over last Sunday to visit. We played on the swing sets outside, took pictures for China, Ninny notarized our documents and we had some dinner. It was a fun day.

All together we need 11 pictures of ourselves. Three of us as a couple and eight other pictures that represent our life. This is proving harder than I initially thought! Rumor is, the pictures are relied upon pretty heavily when matching us with our future child. We have a couple pictures on-hand that will work, but we still need several more. Ninny was kind enough to lend out her kids for a photo-op and not laugh at our less than skilled interactions with her children.

There are a couple good pictures, so I thought you all could help us choose which one to send to China. Leave a comment with the number next to the picture you like best.

Choose your favorite number:

#1 - Fun on the slide! China doesn't actually have to know that Al didn't catch Ethan when he got to the bottom, do they?

#2 - Let's go on the see -saw! Actually the see-saw ceased to be fun for Ethan at this moment so I'm trying to convince him to give it another try and Al is giving him the "yeah dude, I just want to run too" look.
#3 - Climbing in the tree house! I'm laughing at Ninny and Al's flashing the "ok, this really isn't so bad after all face."
Other photos for fun:

This is Ninny Fabulous, notarizing our stuffs!

And me, with a rarely seen REAL smile that I've only been flashing lately when I get to check something off my adoption to-do list.

I like #1. It shows you both playing. And really, if parenting is anything, it's a team effort. I know it's not a close up, but sounds like you can send plenty of those. I am currently writing a letter of reference for my best friend, Amie, for her second adoption. WHAT are the chances?!! And we went over her pics last week. UNCANNY.

And by the way: Happy Mother's Day, just a little early.
