Meet Miss Dior: a fashionista with a Data-like logical side. Married to Captain Picard: a Linux lord with Jean-Luc Picard patience. On a chilly January night in 2005, a journey through space and time began for us when we decided to expand our family through adoption. Our journey to find the child meant for us has led us all over the galaxy, but in the end, we've come back home to adopt a child domestically.

Beverly Hills - Rolling like a Celebrity!

For those of you who may be worried by the altruistic nature of my previous post, worry not. A little pampering at the spa today and a trip to Beverly Hills tomorrow are all part of the anniversary celebration. We'll be gone Thursday-Sunday, but should have some cool Cali pictures to post by Monday.

Here's me getting the star treatment in the pedicure chair

On the adoption front, good news! We got our birth certificates in the mail today! It just happened we were both home when the certified copies came via UPS. Alan and I both had our doctor's appointments today. (Alan might have passed out when he got his blood taken, but I'll never tell.) Two of our friends have their reference letters ready to go. We also got a rough draft of our home study report e-mailed to us! All in all, a good day.

So, the fact that I'm still super-stressed about not being able to get our TB tests today (because we are traveling and have to have them read 48 hours after getting the test) and that getting our home study report means we are holding up our agency by not having our paperwork complete are great signs that I need a vacation!

After all, the next time we fly to California it will be to catch a plane to China. Then, we'll know what real stress is like!

Well deserved vacation, I hope you both relax and enjoy!!! Make sure to include a pic with a group of friends, as well as one with the two of you cuddled on the couch with the cats. I think you are a great combo of social and homebody loving. :)

FYI: IF-IF-IF Alan may have passed out during blood test, your not the first wife who will take that information to her grave............LOL
Best Wishes for a safe relaxing Cali-trip!
Making it thru the stress of paperwork and the blood tests and fingerprints etc you will have earned your passage for parenthood

As a new dad myself I can appreciate the ups and downs of pre-parenthood. Keep things in check and think about what is important. One small battle does not win the war. You must face many obstacles along the way. Keep your chin up and your spirits high. Focus on what is important and do not waste energy on what is not important.
