Meet Miss Dior: a fashionista with a Data-like logical side. Married to Captain Picard: a Linux lord with Jean-Luc Picard patience. On a chilly January night in 2005, a journey through space and time began for us when we decided to expand our family through adoption. Our journey to find the child meant for us has led us all over the galaxy, but in the end, we've come back home to adopt a child domestically.

We're Approved!!!

We got the call around 6 p.m. this evening from our adoption agency to let us know our adoption application has been approved. I can't remember the last time I was so excited or happy! I called Picard immediately and yelled "WE'RE APPROVED, WE'RE APPROVED, WE'RE APPROVED!"

Super Picard, the crazy Linux genius, is going to post the voice mail from our agency representative later for y'all to hear. My favorite parts are when she says we're "officially approved" and our materials look "great."

So, on to the next episode we go. Tomorrow we'll call the home study agency and book our first appointment, which is an hour and a half interview at their office.

Happy, Happy!! Joy, Joy!! Dare I say, this is even better than a new Dior handbag?

A smile will gain you ten years of life.
After the initial shock of you yelling into the phone,
We're Approved
and listening to the voice mail from adoption agency,
I just know your still smiling!

To understand your parents' love you must have children yourself
CONGRATULATIONS AMIE AND ALAN

Your mother has been keeping me up to date and I just have to let you know how HAPPY I am for both of you. This has already been a journey, and you are getting closer each day. Congratulations again.

Dear Amie and Alan,
We have been praying for your upcoming adoption (all the way from Iowa!) I am a cousin to future Grandparents Patty and Gary.
We were honored to be asked to fill out forms of "character reference" for three different adoptions of Korean children(via Holt Agency). The girls now range from ages of 2yr to 5yr. and dearly love their Mommies and Daddies! We have a chance to be "pseudo grandparents" and watch several other children as well as Gracie and Hannah Jo(from Korea)while their folks attend a small group Bible Study. We will be excited to hear of your ongoing blessings!
