I'm on Cloud Nine and it's NOT all due to Pain Medication!

Baby Olivia, pictured to the left, is a new doll offered by China Sprout, which sells Chinese cultural and educational products online. She appeared in my inbox today, which I took as a great sign and symbol of this fantastic day where we took our next big step on our long journey.

We had our first home study interview at our home study agency today and all appeared to go well. Picard and I answered various questions about our families and our relationship with each other. We shared the story of how we came to decide upon Chinese adoption. We laughed at the yin yang balance of our personalities. It really was a pleasant experience.

Our next home study visit (the one that's actually in our home) is on April 6. Good Friday! Yes, I believe it will be a good Friday. From there, our home study should be written in 4-6 weeks.

Just in case you're curious about the pain medication reference above, I've had a freakishly painful tooth incident that started this past Saturday. Turns out, when I had a tooth filling replaced a few weeks ago the dentist drilled too close to the nerve which caused the nerve to become inflamed and infected. It has been the worst, mind-numbing, overwhelming pain I've ever felt in my life. I'll have to take pain medication and antibiotics until next Tuesday, when I'll have a root canal to fix the problem. Fun. Fun.

Back to sunshine and roses, it was a truly great day. We can't wait to dig into our paperwork and work on the next steps.
